Accounting Specialist Philippines

Responsibilities


  • Act as the Philippine Accounting Subject Matter Expert (SME) for ERP projects, advising ERP Consultants and Project Managers on local accounting standards, workflows, and best practices.

  • Provide guidance on how Philippine tax and statutory requirements (BIR, VAT, withholding taxes, income tax, percentage tax) should be accurately configured and represented in the ERP system.

  • Collaborate with ERP Consultants to review and validate system configurations such as chart of accounts, tax codes, reporting structures, and financial workflows.

  • Assist in documenting localized accounting requirements, including BIR reports (e.g., 2550M/Q, 1601E/C, 1702) and compliance-specific logic.

  • Participate in requirement gathering sessions to identify gaps or risks related to local financial compliance.

  • Review and validate ERP-generated reports and financial transactions to ensure regulatory alignment with BIR, COA, and DOF standards.

  • Support the testing phase by reviewing test cases and validating financial outputs from the ERP.

  • Provide clarification and documentation on accounting treatments for Philippine-specific scenarios (e.g., expanded withholding tax, input VAT carryover, final tax).

  • Stay updated on changes in local tax laws and accounting standards, and proactively advise the team on required adjustments.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or Finance; CPA qualification preferred.

  • At least 3–5 years of experience in accounting roles with strong exposure to Philippine tax laws and BIR compliance.

  • Experience participating in ERP implementation (as key user, consultant assistant, or system advisor) is an advantage.

  • Strong knowledge of Philippine GAAP, BIR processes, and government accounting frameworks.

  • Able to translate accounting concepts into system design recommendations for ERP consultants.

  • Comfortable working cross-functionally in project-based environments and contributing to solution-oriented discussions.

  • Excellent communication, documentation, and analytical thinking skills.
